Atheist gives $5.6M to New York Catholic schools

Robert Wilson, an 83-year-old atheist who made his fortune by managing a hedge fund, has donated $5.6 million to the Archdiocese of New York. The gift will help Catholic schools track down and solicit funds from alumni.

“Most of what the Catholic schools teach are the three Rs,” says Mr. Wilson. “And they do it better than the union-controlled inner-city schools.” .
