</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh as follows,</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2 'Get up and make your way down to the potter's house, and there I shall tell you what I have to say.'</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3 So I went down to the potter's house; and there he was, working at the wheel.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4 But the vessel he was making came out wrong, as may happen with clay when a potter is at work. So he began again and shaped it into another vessel, as he thought fit.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">5 Then the word of Yahweh came to me as follows,</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">6 'House of Israel, can I not do to you what this potter does? Yahweh demands. Yes, like clay in the potter's hand, so you are in mine, House of Israel.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 146:1-2, 2-4, 5-6</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">1 Alleluia! Praise Yahweh, my soul!</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">2 I will praise Yahweh all my life, I will make music to my God as long as I live.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">3 Do not put your trust in princes, in any child of Adam, who has no power to save.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">4 When his spirit goes forth he returns to the earth, on that very day all his plans come to nothing.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">5 How blessed is he who has Jacob's God to help him, his hope is in Yahweh his God,</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">6 who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them. He keeps faith for ever,</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Gospel, Matthew 13:47-53</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">47 'Again, the kingdom of Heaven is like a dragnet that is cast in the sea and brings in a haul of all kinds of fish.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">48 When it is full, the fishermen bring it ashore; then, sitting down, they collect the good ones in baskets and throw away those that are no use.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">49 This is how it will be at the end of time: the angels will appear and separate the wicked from the upright,</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">50 to throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">51 'Have you understood all these?' They said, 'Yes.'</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">52 And he said to them, 'Well then, every scribe who becomes a disciple of the kingdom of Heaven is like a householder who brings out from his storeroom new things as well as old.'</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">1 In the reign of Ahaz son of Jotham, son of Uzziah king of Judah, Razon king of Aram advanced on Jerusalem with Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, to attack it; but he was unable to attack it.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">2 The House of David was informed: 'Aram has halted in Ephraimite territory.' At this, his heart and his people's hearts shook like forest trees shaking in the wind.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">3 Yahweh then said to Isaiah, 'Go out with your son Shear-Jashub, and meet Ahaz at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the road to the Fuller's Field,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">4 and say to him, "Pay attention and keep calm. </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">5 or because Aram, Ephraim and the son of Remaliah have been plotting against you and saying:</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">6 Let us mount an attack on Judah, destroy it, force it onto our side and install the son of Tabeel there as king.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">7 "Lord Yahweh says this: This will not happen, it will never occur,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">8 for the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Razon; another sixty-five years, and Ephraim will cease to be a people.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">3 God himself among its palaces has proved himself its bulwark.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">4 For look, kings made alliance, together they advanced;</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">5 without a second glance, when they saw, they panicked and fled away.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">7 it was the east wind, that wrecker of ships from Tarshish.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">8 What we had heard we saw for ourselves in the city of our God, in the city of Yahweh Sabaoth, which God has established for ever.Pause</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">21 'Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">22 Still, I tell you that it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on Judgement Day than for you.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">23 And as for you, Capernaum, did you want to be raised as high as heaven? You shall be flung down to hell. For if the miracles done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have been standing yet.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">24 Still, I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on Judgement Day than for you.'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">1 Coasts and islands, listen to me, pay attention, distant peoples. Yahweh called me when I was in the womb, before my birth he had pronounced my name.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">2 He made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hid me in the shadow of his hand. He made me into a sharpened arrow and concealed me in his quiver.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">3 He said to me, 'Israel, you are my servant, through whom I shall manifest my glory.'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">4 But I said, 'My toil has been futile, I have exhausted myself for nothing, to no purpose.' Yet all the while my cause was with Yahweh and my <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/06/daily-bible-readings-for-tuesday-june.html">reward with my God</a>.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">5 And now Yahweh has spoken, who formed me in the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him and to re-unite Israel to him;-I shall be honoured in Yahweh's eyes, and my God has been my strength.-</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">6 He said, 'It is not enough for you to be my servant, to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back the survivors of Israel; I shall make you a light to the nations so that my salvation may reach the remotest parts of earth.' </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 139:1-3, 13-14, 14-15 </b></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] Yahweh, you examine me and know me,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">2 you know when I sit, when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">3 You watch when I walk or lie down, you know every detail of my conduct.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">13 You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother's womb.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">14 For so many marvels I thank you; a wonder am I, and all your works are wonders. You knew me through and through,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">15 my being held no secrets from you, when I was being formed in secret, textured in the depths of the earth. </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><b>Gospel, Luke 1:57-66, 80 </b></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">57 The time came for Elizabeth to have her child, and she gave birth to a son;</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">58 and when her neighbours and relations heard that the Lord had lavished on her his faithful love, they shared her joy.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">59 Now it happened that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; they were going to call him Zechariah after his father,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">60 but his mother spoke up. 'No,' she said, 'he is to be called John.'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">61 They said to her, 'But no one in your family has that name,'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">62 and made signs to his father to find out what he wanted him called.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">63 The father asked for a writing-tablet and wrote, 'His name is John.' And they were all astonished.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">64 At that instant his power of speech returned and he spoke and praised God.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">65 All their neighbours were filled with awe and the whole affair was talked about throughout the hill country of Judaea.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">66 All those who heard of it treasured it in their hearts. 'What will this child turn out to be?' they wondered. And indeed the hand of the Lord was with him.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">80 Meanwhile the child grew up and his spirit grew strong. And he lived in the desert until the day he appeared openly to Israel. </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><b>Reading 2, Acts 13:22-26</b></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">22 he deposed him and raised up David to be king, whom he attested in these words, "I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will perform my entire will."</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">23 To keep his promise, God has raised up for Israel one of David's descendants, Jesus, as Saviour,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">24 whose coming was heralded by John when he proclaimed a baptism of repentance for the whole people of Israel.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">25 Before John ended his course he said, "I am not the one you imagine me to be; there is someone coming after me whose sandal I am not fit to undo."</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">26 'My brothers, sons of Abraham's race, and all you godfearers, this message of salvation is meant for you.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">17 Then the word of Yahweh came to Elijah the Tishbite,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">18 'Up! Go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, in Samaria. You will find him in Naboth's vineyard; he has gone down to take possession of it.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">19 You are to say this to him, "Yahweh says this: You have committed murder and now you usurp as well. </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">20 Ahab said to Elijah, 'So you have caught me, O my enemy!' Elijah answered, 'I have caught you! </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">21 I shall now bring disaster down on you; I shall sweep away your descendants and wipe out every manjack of the House of Ahab, fettered or free in Israel.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">22 I shall treat your House as I treated the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat and of Baasha son of Ahijah, for provoking my anger and leading Israel into sin.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">23 (Against Jezebel too Yahweh spoke these words, "The dogs will eat Jezebel in the Field of Jezreel.")</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">24 Those of Ahab's family who die in the city, the dogs will eat; and those who die in the open country, the birds of the air will eat.'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">25 And indeed there never was anyone like Ahab for double dealing and for doing what is displeasing to Yahweh, urged on by Jezebel his wife.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">26 He behaved in the most abominable way, adhering to idols, just as the Amorites had, whom Yahweh had dispossessed for the Israelites.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">27 When Ahab heard these words, he tore his garments and put sackcloth next to his skin and fasted; he slept in the sackcloth; he walked with slow steps.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">28 Then the word of Yahweh came to Elijah the Tishbite,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">4 Against you, you alone, I have sinned, I have done what you see to be wrong, that you may show your saving justice when you pass sentence, and your victory may appear when you give judgement,</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">5 remember, I was born guilty, a sinner from the moment of conception.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even the tax collectors do as much?</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">5 who are being kept safe by God's power through faith until the salvation which has been prepared is revealed at the final point of time.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">6 This is a great joy to you, even though for a short time yet you must bear all sorts of trials;</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Gospel, Mark 10:17-27</b></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">17 He was setting out on a journey when a man ran up, knelt before him and put this question to him, 'Good master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">20 And he said to him, 'Master, I have kept all these since my earliest days.'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">21 Jesus looked steadily at him and he was filled with love for him, and he said, 'You need to do one thing more. </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">22 But his face fell at these words and he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth.</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">24 The disciples were astounded by these words, but Jesus insisted, 'My children,' he said to them, 'how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />

</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">26 They were more astonished than ever, saying to one another, 'In that case, who can be saved?'</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">27 Jesus gazed at them and said, 'By human resources it is impossible, but not for God: because for God everything is possible.' </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />

<br />
1 In my earlier work, Theophilus, I dealt with everything Jesus had done and taught from the beginning<br />
<br />
2 until the day he gave his instructions to the apostles he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, and was taken up to heaven.<br />
<br />
3 He had shown himself alive to them after his Passion by many demonstrations: for forty days he had continued to appear to them and tell them about the kingdom of God.<br />
<br />
4 While at table with them, he had told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for what the Father had promised. 'It is', he had said, 'what you have heard me speak about:<br />
<br />
5 John baptised with water but, not many days from now, you are going to be baptised with the Holy Spirit.'<br />
<br />
6 Now having met together, they asked him, 'Lord, has the time come for you to restore the kingdom to Israel?'<br />
<br />
7 He replied, 'It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority,<br />
<br />
8 but you will receive the power of the <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/05/daily-readings-for-friday-may-11-2012.html">Holy Spirit</a> which will come on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to earth's remotest end.'<br />
<br />
9 As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.<br />
<br />
10 They were still staring into the sky as he went, when suddenly two men in white were standing beside them,<br />
<br />
11 and they said, 'Why are you Galileans standing here looking into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him go to heaven.' <br />
<br />
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 47:2-3, 6-7, 8-9</b><br />
<br />
2 For Yahweh, the Most High, is glorious, the great king over all the earth.<br />
<br />
3 He brings peoples under our yoke and nations under our feet.<br />
<br />
6 Let the music sound for our God, let it sound, let the music sound for our king, let it sound.<br />
<br />
7 For he is king of the whole world; learn the music, let it sound for God!<br />
<br />
8 God reigns over the nations, seated on his holy throne.<br />
<br />
9 The leaders of the nations rally to the people of the God of Abraham. The shields of the earth belong to God, who is exalted on high.<br />
<br />
<b>Gospel, Mark 16:15-20</b><br />
<br />
15 And he said to them, 'Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to all creation.<br />
<br />
16 Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.<br />
<br />
17 These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues;<br />
<br />
18 they will pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover.'<br />
<br />
19 And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven; there at the right hand of God he took his place,<br />
<br />
20 while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that accompanied it.<br />
<br />
<b>Reading 2, Ephesians 1:17-23</b><br />
<br />
17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him.<br />
<br />
18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, how rich is the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,<br />
<br />
19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with the strength of his power<br />
<br />
20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at his right hand, in heaven,<br />
<br />
21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named, not only in this age but also in the age to come.<br />
<br />
22 He has put all things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;<br />
<br />
23 which is his Body, the fullness of him who is filled, all in all. <br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Acts 15:22-31 </b><br />
<br />
22 Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose delegates from among themselves to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas, known as Barsabbas, and Silas, both leading men in the brotherhood,<br />
<br />
23 and gave them this letter to take with them: 'The apostles and elders, your brothers, send greetings to the brothers of gentile birth in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia.<br />
<br />
24 We hear that some people coming from here, but acting without any authority from ourselves, have disturbed you with their demands and have unsettled your minds;<br />
<br />
25 and so we have decided unanimously to elect delegates and to send them to you with our well-beloved Barnabas and Paul,<br />
<br />
26 who have committed their lives to the name of our <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/05/daily-bible-readings-for-tuesday-may-08.html">Lord Jesus Christ</a>.<br />
<br />
27 Accordingly we are sending you Judas and Silas, who will confirm by word of mouth what we have written.<br />
<br />
28 It has been decided by the Holy Spirit and by ourselves not to impose on you any burden beyond these essentials:<br />
<br />
29 you are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from illicit marriages. Avoid these, and you will do what is right. Farewell.'<br />
<br />
30 The party left and went down to Antioch, where they summoned the whole community and delivered the letter.<br />
<br />
31 The community read it and were delighted with the encouragement it gave them. <br />
<br />
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 57:8-9, 10-12</b><br />
<br />
8 Awake, my glory, awake, lyre and harp, that I may awake the Dawn.<br />
<br />
9 I will praise you among the peoples, Lord, I will make music for you among nations,<br />
<br />
10 for your faithful love towers to heaven, your constancy to the clouds.<br />
<br />
11 Be exalted above the heavens, God! Your glory over all the earth!<br />
<br />
<b>Gospel, John 15:12-17</b><br />
<br />
12 This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.<br />
<br />
13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.<br />
<br />
14 You are my friends, if you do what I command you.<br />
<br />
15 I shall no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know the master's business; I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.<br />
<br />
16 You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last; so that the Father will give you anything you ask him in my name.<br />
<br />
17 My command to you is to love one another.<br />

<b>Reading 1, Acts 14:19-28 </b><br />
<br />
19 Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and turned the people against them. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the town, thinking he was dead.<br />
<br />
20 The disciples came crowding round him but, as they did so, he stood up and went back to the town. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.<br />
<br />
21 Having preached the good news in that town and made a considerable number of disciples, they went back through Lystra, Iconium and Antioch.<br />
<br />
22 They put fresh heart into the disciples, encouraging them to persevere in the faith, saying, 'We must all experience many hardships before we enter the kingdom of God.'<br />
<br />
23 In each of these churches they appointed elders, and with prayer and fasting they commended them to the Lord in whom they had come to believe.<br />
<br />
24 They passed through Pisidia and reached Pamphylia.<br />
<br />
25 Then after proclaiming the word at Perga they went down to Attalia<br />
<br />
26 and from there sailed for Antioch, where they had originally been commended to the grace of God for the work they had now completed.<br />
<br />
27 On their arrival they assembled the church and gave an account of all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the gentiles.<br />
<br />
28 They stayed there with the disciples for some time. <br />
<br />
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 145:10-11, 12-13, 21 </b><br />
<br />
0 All your creatures shall thank you, Yahweh, and your faithful shall bless you.<br />
<br />
11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingship and tell of your might,<br />
<br />
12 making known your mighty deeds to the children of Adam, the glory and majesty of your kingship.<br />
<br />
13 Your kingship is a kingship for ever, your reign lasts from age to age. Yahweh is trustworthy in all his words, and upright in all his deeds.<br />
<br />
21 My mouth shall always praise <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/05/daily-bible-readings-for-thursday-may.html">Yahweh</a>, let every creature bless his holy name for ever and ever.<br />
<br />
<b>Gospel, John 14:27-31</b><br />
<br />
27 Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you, a peace which the world cannot give, this is my gift to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.<br />
<br />
28 You heard me say: I am going away and shall return. If you loved me you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.<br />
<br />
29 I have told you this now, before it happens, so that when it does happen you may believe.<br />
<br />
30 I shall not talk to you much longer, because the prince of this world is on his way. He has no power over me,<br />
<br />
31 but the world must recognise that I love the Father and that I act just as the Father commanded. Come now, let us go. </div>valentinohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02973166791642176907noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8713032217108647826.post-90513679260661488852012-05-03T23:43:00.000-07:002012-05-04T00:02:44.756-07:00Daily Bible Readings for Thursday May 03, 2012<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<b>Reading 1, First Corinthians 15:1-8 </b><br />
<br />
1 I want to make quite clear to you, brothers, what the message of the gospel that I preached to you is; you accepted it and took your stand on it,<br />
<br />
2 and you are saved by it, if you keep to the message I preached to you; otherwise your coming to believe was in vain.<br />
<br />
3 The tradition I handed on to you in the first place, a tradition which I had myself received, was that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the scriptures,<br />
<br />
4 and that he was buried; and that on the third day, he was raised to life, in accordance with the scriptures;<br />
<br />
5 and that he appeared to Cephas; and later to the Twelve;<br />
<br />
6 and next he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still with us, though some have fallen asleep;<br />
<br />
7 then he appeared to James, and then to all the apostles.<br />
<br />
8 Last of all he appeared to me too, as though I was a child born abnormally.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/04/daily-bible-readings-for-thursday-april.html"><b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 19:2-3, 4-5 </b></a><br />
<br />
2 day discourses of it to day, night to night hands on the knowledge.<br />
<br />
3 No utterance at all, no speech, not a sound to be heard,<br />
<br />
4 but from the entire earth the design stands out, this message reaches the whole world. High above, he pitched a tent for the sun,<br />
<br />
5 who comes forth from his pavilion like a bridegroom, delights like a champion in the course to be run.<br />
<br />
<b>Gospel, John 14:6-14
6 </b><br />
<br />
Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.<br />
<br />
7 If you know me, you will know my Father too. From this moment you know him and have seen him.<br />
<br />
8 Philip said, 'Lord, show us the Father and then we shall be satisfied.' Jesus said to him,<br />
<br />
9 'Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? 'Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father, so how can you say, "Show us the Father"?<br />
<br />
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? What I say to you I do not speak of my own accord: it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his works.<br />
<br />
11 You must believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe it on the evidence of these works.<br />
<br />
12 In all truth I tell you, whoever believes in me will perform the same works as I do myself, and will perform even greater works, because I am going to the Father.<br />
<br />
13 Whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.<br />
<br />
14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Acts 8:26-40 </b><br />
<br />
26 The angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, 'Set out at noon and go along the road that leads from Jerusalem down to Gaza, the desert road.'<br />
<br />
27 So he set off on his journey. Now an Ethiopian had been on pilgrimage to Jerusalem; he was a eunuch and an officer at the court of the kandake, or queen, of Ethiopia; he was her chief treasurer.<br />
<br />
28 He was now on his way home; and as he sat in his chariot he was reading the prophet Isaiah.<br />
<br />
29 The Spirit said to Philip, 'Go up and join that chariot.'<br />
<br />
30 When Philip ran up, he heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, 'Do you understand what you are reading?'<br />
<br />
31 He replied, 'How could I, unless I have someone to guide me?' So he urged Philip to get in and sit by his side.<br />
<br />
32 Now the passage of scripture he was reading was this: Like a lamb led to the slaughter-house, like a sheep dumb in front of its shearers, he never opens his mouth.<br />
<br />
33 In his humiliation fair judgement was denied him. Who will ever talk about his descendants, since his life on earth has been cut short?<br />
<br />
34 The eunuch addressed Philip and said, 'Tell me, is the prophet referring to himself or someone else?'<br />
<br />
35 Starting, therefore, with this text of scripture Philip proceeded to explain the good news of Jesus to him.<br />
<br />
36 Further along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, 'Look,is some water; is there anything to prevent my being baptised?'<br />
<br />
37<br />
<br />
38 He ordered the chariot to stop, then Philip and the eunuch both went down into the water and he baptised him.<br />
<br />
39 But after they had come up out of the water again Philip was taken away by the Spirit of the Lord, and the eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing.<br />
<br />
40 Philip appeared in Azotus and continued his journey, proclaiming the good news in every town as far as Caesarea. <br />
<br />
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 66:8-9, 16-17, 20</b><br />
<br />
8 Nations, bless our God, let the sound of his praise be heard;<br />
<br />
9 he brings us to life and keeps our feet from stumbling.<br />
<br />
16 Come and listen, all who fear God, while I tell what he has done for me.<br />
<br />
17 To him I cried aloud, high praise was on my tongue.<br />
<br />
20 Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer, nor his own faithful love from me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Gospel, John 6:44-51</span></b><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">44 'No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me, and I will raise that person up on the last day.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">45 It is written in the prophets: They will all be taught by God; everyone who has listened to the Father, and learnt from him, comes to me.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">46 Not that anybody has seen the Father, except him who has his being from God: he has seen the Father.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">47 In all truth I tell you, everyone who believes has eternal life.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">48 I am the bread of life.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">49 Your fathers ate manna in the desert and they are dead;</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">50 but this is the bread which comes down from heaven, so that a person may eat it and not die.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">51 I am the living bread which has come down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world.' </span></div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Acts 5:17-26</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 Then the high priest intervened with all his supporters from the party of the Sadducees. Filled with jealousy,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 they arrested the apostles and had them put in the public gaol.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 But at night the angel of the Lord opened the prison gates and said as he led them out,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 'Go and take up position in the Temple, and tell the people all about this new Life.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 They did as they were told; they went into the Temple at dawn and began to preach. When the high priest arrived, he and his supporters convened the Sanhedrin -- this was the full Senate of Israel -- and sent to the gaol for them to be brought.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
22 But when the officials arrived at the prison they found they were not inside, so they went back and reported,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
23 'We found the gaol securely locked and the warders on duty at the gates, but when we unlocked the door we found no one inside.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
24 When the captain of the Temple and the chief priests heard this news they wondered what could be happening.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
25 Then a man arrived with fresh news. 'Look!' he said, 'the men you imprisoned are in the Temple. They are standing there preaching to the people.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
26 The captain went with his men and fetched them -- though not by force, for they were afraid that the people might stone them. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 I will praise Yahweh from my heart; let the humble hear and rejoice.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 Proclaim with me the greatness of Yahweh, let us acclaim his name together.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 I seek Yahweh and he answers me, frees me from all my fears.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 Fix your gaze on Yahweh and your face will grow bright, you will never hang your head in shame.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 A pauper calls out and Yahweh hears, saves him from all his troubles.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 Taste and see that Yahweh is good. How blessed are those who take refuge in him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 Fear Yahweh, you his holy ones; those who fear him lack for nothing.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, John 3:16-21</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 For this is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 For God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but so that through him the world might be saved.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 No one who believes in him will be judged; but whoever does not believe is judged already, because that person does not believe in the Name of God's only Son.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 And the judgement is this: though the light has come into the world people have preferred darkness to the light because their deeds were evil.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 And indeed, everybody who does wrong hates the light and avoids it, to prevent his actions from being shown up;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 but whoever does the truth comes out into the light, so that what he is doing may plainly appear as done in God.' </div>

<b>Reading 1, Acts 4:32-37</b></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
32 The whole group of believers was united, heart and soul; no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, as everything they owned was held in common.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
33 The apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and they were all accorded great respect.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
34 None of their members was ever in want, as all those who owned land or houses would sell them, and bring the money from the sale of them,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
35 to present it to the apostles; it was then distributed to any who might be in need.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
36 There was a Levite of Cypriot origin called Joseph whom the apostles surnamed Barnabas (which means 'son of encouragement').</div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

7 Do not be surprised when I say: You must be born from above.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 The wind blows where it pleases; you can hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 'How is that possible?' asked Nicodemus.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 Jesus replied, 'You are the Teacher of Israel, and you do not know these things!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 'In all truth I tell you, we speak only about what we know and witness only to what we have seen and yet you people reject our evidence.</div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 If you do not believe me when I speak to you about earthly things, how will you believe me when I speak to you about heavenly things?</div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 No one has gone up to heaven except the one who came down from heaven, the Son of man;</div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Acts 2:36-41</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
36 'For this reason the whole House of Israel can be certain that the Lord and Christ whom God has made is this Jesus whom you crucified.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
37 Hearing this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, 'What are we to do, brothers?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
38 'You must repent,' Peter answered, 'and every one of you must be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
39 The promise that was made is for you and your children, and for all those who are far away, for all those whom the Lord our God is calling to himself.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
40 He spoke to them for a long time using many other arguments, and he urged them, 'Save yourselves from this perverse generation.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
41 They accepted what he said and were baptised. That very day about three thousand were added to their number. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 33:4-5, 18-19, 20, 22</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, all he does springs from his constancy.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fills the earth.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, John 20:11-18</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 But Mary was standing outside near the tomb, weeping. Then, as she wept, she stooped to look inside,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 and saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had been, one at the head, the other at the feet.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 They said, 'Woman, why are you weeping?' 'They have taken my Lord away,' she replied, 'and I don't know where they have put him.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 As she said this she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, though she did not realise that it was Jesus.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 Jesus said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?' Supposing him to be the gardener, she said, 'Sir, if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and remove him.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 Jesus said, 'Mary!' She turned round then and said to him in Hebrew, 'Rabbuni!' -- which means Master.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to the brothers, and tell them: I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 So Mary of Magdala told the disciples, 'I have seen the Lord,' and that he had said these things to her. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Isaiah 49:1-6 </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 Coasts and islands, listen to me, pay attention, distant peoples. Yahweh called me when I was in the womb, before my birth he had pronounced my name.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 He made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hid me in the shadow of his hand. He made me into a sharpened arrow and concealed me in his quiver.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 He said to me, 'Israel, you are my servant, through whom I shall manifest my glory.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 But I said, 'My toil has been futile, I have exhausted myself for nothing, to no purpose.' Yet all the while my cause was with Yahweh and my reward with my God.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 And now Yahweh has spoken, who formed me in the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him and to re-unite Israel to him;-I shall be honoured in Yahweh's eyes, and my God has been my strength.-</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 He said, 'It is not enough for you to be my servant, to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back the survivors of Israel; I shall make you a light to the nations so that my salvation may reach the remotest parts of earth.' </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 71:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 15, 17</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge, I shall never be put to shame.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me, listen to me and save me.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock, my fortress.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constant theme of my praise.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 My lips shall proclaim your saving justice, your saving power all day long.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, John 13:21-33, 36-38</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 Having said this, Jesus was deeply disturbed and declared, 'In all truth I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
22 The disciples looked at each other, wondering whom he meant.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
23 The disciple Jesus loved was reclining next to Jesus;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
24 Simon Peter signed to him and said, 'Ask who it is he means,'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
25 so leaning back close to Jesus' chest he said, 'Who is it, Lord?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
26 Jesus answered, 'It is the one to whom I give the piece of bread that I dip in the dish.' And when he had dipped the piece of bread he gave it to Judas son of Simon Iscariot.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
27 At that instant, after Judas had taken the bread, Satan entered him. Jesus then said, 'What you are going to do, do quickly.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
28 None of the others at table understood why he said this.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
29 Since Judas had charge of the common fund, some of them thought Jesus was telling him, 'Buy what we need for the festival,' or telling him to give something to the poor.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
30 As soon as Judas had taken the piece of bread he went out. It was night.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
31 When he had gone, Jesus said: Now has the Son of man been glorified, and in him God has been glorified.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
32 If <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/03/daily-readings-for-thursday-march-29.html">God has been glorified</a> in him, God will in turn glorify him in himself, and will glorify him very soon.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
33 Little children, I shall be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and, as I told the Jews, where I am going, you cannot come.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
36 Simon Peter said, 'Lord, where are you going?' Jesus replied, 'Now you cannot follow me where I am going, but later you shall follow me.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
37 Peter said to him, 'Why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
38 'Lay down your life for me?' answered Jesus. 'In all truth I tell you, before the cock crows you will have disowned me three times.' </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Genesis 17:3-9 </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 And Abram bowed to the ground. God spoke to him as follows,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 'For my part, this is my covenant with you: you will become the father of many nations.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 And you are no longer to be called Abram; your name is to be Abraham, for I am making you father of many nations.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 I shall make you exceedingly fertile. I shall make you into nations, and your issue will be kings.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 And I shall maintain my covenant between myself and you, and your descendants after you, generation after generation, as a covenant in perpetuity, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 And to you and to your descendants after you, I shall give the country where you are now immigrants, the entire land of Canaan, to own in perpetuity. And I shall be their God.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 God further said to Abraham, 'You for your part must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you, generation after generation. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 105:4-5, 6-7, 8-9</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, John 8:51-59</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
51 In all truth I tell you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
52 The Jews said, 'Now we know that you are possessed. Abraham is dead, and the prophets are dead, and yet you say, "Whoever keeps my word will never know the taste of death."</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? The prophets are dead too. Who are you claiming to be?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
54 Jesus answered: If I were to seek my own glory my glory would be worth nothing; in fact, my glory is conferred by the Father, by the one of whom you say, 'He is our God,'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
55 although you do not know him. But I know him, and if I were to say, 'I do not know him,' I should be a liar, as you yourselves are. But I do know him, and I keep his word.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to think that he would see my Day; he saw it and was glad.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
57 The Jews then said, 'You are not fifty yet, and you have seen Abraham!'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
58 Jesus replied: In all truth I tell you, before Abraham ever was, I am.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
59 At this they picked up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself and left the Temple. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 102:2-3, 16-18, 19-21 </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 Do not turn away your face from me when I am in trouble; bend down and listen to me, when I call, be quick to answer me!</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 For my days are vanishing like smoke, my bones burning like an oven;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 when Yahweh builds Zion anew, he will be seen in his glory;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 he will turn to hear the prayer of the destitute, and will not treat their prayer with scorn.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 This shall be put on record for a future generation, and a people yet to be born shall praise God:</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 Yahweh has leaned down from the heights of his sanctuary, has looked down from heaven to earth,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 to listen to the sighing of the captive, and set free those condemned to death,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 to proclaim the name of <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/03/daily-readings-for-tuesday-march-20.html">Yahweh in Zion</a>, his praise in Jerusalem; </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, John 8:21-30</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 Again he said to them: I am going away; you will look for me and you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
22 So the Jews said to one another, 'Is he going to kill himself, that he says, "Where I am going, you cannot come?" '</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
23 Jesus went on: You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
24 I have told you already: You will die in your sins. Yes, if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
25 So they said to him, 'Who are you?' Jesus answered: What I have told you from the outset.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
26 About you I have much to say and much to judge; but the one who sent me is true, and what I declare to the world I have learnt from him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
27 They did not recognise that he was talking to them about the Father.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
28 So Jesus said: When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am He and that I do nothing of my own accord. What I say is what the Father has taught me;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
29 he who sent me is with me, and has not left me to myself, for I always do what pleases him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
30 As he was saying this, many came to believe in him. </div>

1 He brought me back to the entrance of the Temple, where a stream flowed eastwards from under the Temple threshold, for the Temple faced east. The water flowed from under the right side of the Temple, south of the altar.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 He took me out by the north gate and led me right round outside as far as the outer east gate where the water flowed out on the right-hand side.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 The man went off to the east holding his measuring line and measured off a thousand cubits; he then made me wade across the stream; the water reached my ankles.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 He measured off another thousand and made me wade across the stream again; the water reached my knees. He measured off another thousand and made me wade across the stream again; the water reached my waist.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 He measured off another thousand; it was now a river which I could not cross; the stream had swollen and was now deep water, a river impossible to cross.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 He then said, 'Do you see, son of man?' He then took me and brought me back to the bank on the river.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 Now, when I reached it, I saw an enormous number of trees on each bank of the river.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 He said, 'This water flows east down to the Arabah and to the sea; and flowing into the sea it makes its waters wholesome.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 Wherever the river flows, all living creatures teeming in it will live. Fish will be very plentiful, for wherever the water goes it brings health, and life teems wherever the river flows.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 Along the river, on either bank, will grow every kind of fruit tree with leaves that never wither and fruit that never fails; they will bear new fruit every month, because this water comes from the sanctuary. And their fruit will be good to eat and the leaves medicinal.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 46:2-3, 5-6, 8-9</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 so we shall not be afraid though the earth be in turmoil, though mountains tumble into the depths of the sea,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 and its waters roar and seethe, and the mountains totter as it heaves. (Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/03/daily-bible-readings-for-wednesday.html">God of Jacob</a>.)Pause</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 God is in the city, it cannot fall; at break of day God comes to its rescue.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms are tumbling, when he raises his voice the earth crumbles away.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 Come, consider the wonders of Yahweh, the astounding deeds he has done on the earth;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 he puts an end to wars over the whole wide world, he breaks the bow, he snaps the spear, shields he burns in the fire.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, John 5:1-3, 5-16</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 After this there was a Jewish festival, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 Now in Jerusalem next to the Sheep Pool there is a pool called Bethesda in Hebrew, which has five porticos;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 and under these were crowds of sick people, blind, lame, paralysed.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 One man there had an illness which had lasted thirty-eight years,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 and when Jesus saw him lying there and knew he had been in that condition for a long time, he said, 'Do you want to be well again?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 'Sir,' replied the sick man, 'I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is disturbed; and while I am still on the way, someone else gets down there before me.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 Jesus said, 'Get up, pick up your sleeping-mat and walk around.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 The man was cured at once, and he picked up his mat and started to walk around. Now that day happened to be the Sabbath,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 so the Jews said to the man who had been cured, 'It is the Sabbath; you are not allowed to carry your sleeping-mat.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 He replied, 'But the man who cured me told me, "Pick up your sleeping-mat and walk around." '</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 They asked, 'Who is the man who said to you, "Pick up your sleeping-mat and walk around"? '</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 The man had no idea who it was, since Jesus had disappeared, as the place was crowded.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 After a while Jesus met him in the Temple and said, 'Now you are well again, do not sin any more, or something worse may happen to you.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 The man went back and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had cured him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 It was because he did things like this on the Sabbath that the Jews began to harass Jesus.</div>

<div style="color: red; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Deuteronomy 4:1, 5-9 </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 'And now, Israel, listen to the laws and customs which I am teaching you today, so that, by observing them, you may survive to enter and take possession of the country which Yahweh, God of your ancestors, is giving you.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 Look: as Yahweh my God commanded me, I have taught you laws and customs, for you to observe in the country of which you are going to take possession.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Keep them, put them into practice, and other peoples will admire your wisdom and prudence. Once they know what all these laws are, they will exclaim, "No other people is as wise and prudent as this great nation!"</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 And indeed, what great nation has its gods as near as <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/03/daily-readings-for-thursday-march-08.html">Yahweh our God</a> is to us whenever we call to him?</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 And what great nation has laws and customs as upright as the entirety of this Law which I am laying down for you today?</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 'But take care, as you value your lives! Do not forget the things which you yourselves have seen, or let them slip from your heart as long as you live; teach them, rather, to your children and to your children's children. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: red; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 147:12-13, 15-16, 19-20</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 Praise Yahweh, Jerusalem, Zion, praise your God.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 For he gives strength to the bars of your gates, he blesses your children within you,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 He sends his word to the earth, his command runs quickly,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 he spreads the snow like flax, strews hoarfrost like ashes,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 He reveals his word to Jacob, his statutes and judgements to Israel.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 For no other nation has he done this, no other has known his judgements. </div>
<div style="color: red; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b><br />
</b></div>
<div style="color: red; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, Matthew 5:17-19</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 'Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete them.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 In truth I tell you, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, is to disappear from the Law until all its purpose is achieved.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 Therefore, anyone who infringes even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered the least in the kingdom of Heaven; but the person who keeps them and teaches them will be considered great in the kingdom of Heaven. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Reading 1, Jeremiah 17:5-10</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">5 Yahweh says this, 'Accursed be anyone who trusts in human beings, who relies on human strength and whose heart turns from Yahweh.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">6 Such a person is like scrub in the wastelands: when good comes, it does not affect him since he lives in the parched places of the desert, uninhabited, salt land.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">7 'Blessed is anyone who trusts in Yahweh, with Yahweh to rely on.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">8 Such a person is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes it has nothing to fear, its foliage stays green; untroubled in a year of drought, it never stops bearing fruit.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">9 'The heart is more devious than any other thing, and is depraved; who can pierce its secrets?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">10 I, Yahweh, search the heart, test the motives, to give each person what his conduct and his actions deserve.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 1:1-2, 3, 4, 6</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">1 How blessed is anyone who rejects the advice of the wicked and does not take a stand in the path that sinners tread, nor a seat in company with cynics,</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">2 but who delights in the law of Yahweh and murmurs his law day and night.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">3 Such a one is like a tree planted near streams; it bears fruit in season and its leaves never wither, and every project succeeds.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">4 How different the wicked, how different! Just like chaff blown around by the wind</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">6 For Yahweh watches over the path of the upright, but the path of the wicked is doomed.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Gospel, Luke 16:19-31</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">19 'There was a rich man who used to dress in purple and fine linen and feast magnificently every day.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">20 And at his gate there used to lie a poor man called Lazarus, covered with sores,</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">21 who longed to fill himself with what fell from the rich man's table. Even dogs came and licked his sores.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">22 Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels into <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/03/daily-readings-for-wednesday-march-07.html">Abraham's embrace</a>. The rich man also died and was buried.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">23 'In his torment in Hades he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off with Lazarus in his embrace.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">24 So he cried out, "Father Abraham, pity me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in agony in these flames."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">25 Abraham said, "My son, remember that during your life you had your fill of good things, just as Lazarus his fill of bad. Now he is being comforted here while you are in agony.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">26 But that is not all: between us and you a great gulf has been fixed, to prevent those who want to cross from our side to yours or from your side to ours."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">27 'So he said, "Father, I beg you then to send Lazarus to my father's house,</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">28 since I have five brothers, to give them warning so that they do not come to this place of torment too."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">29 Abraham said, "They have Moses and the prophets, let them listen to them."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">30 The rich man replied, "Ah no, father Abraham, but if someone comes to them from the dead, they will repent."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">31 Then Abraham said to him, "If they will not listen either to Moses or to the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone should rise from the dead."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br />

18 'Come on,' they said, 'let us concoct a plot against Jeremiah, for the Law will not perish for lack of priests, nor advice for lack of wise men, nor the word for lack of prophets. Come on, let us slander him and pay no attention to anything he says.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 Pay attention to me, Yahweh, hear what my adversaries are saying.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 Should evil be returned for good? Now they are digging a pit for me. Remember how I pleaded before you and spoke good of them, to turn your retribution away from them. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: red; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 31:5-6, 14, 15-16 </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 to your hands I commit my spirit, by you have I been redeemed. God of truth,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 you hate those who serve useless idols; but my trust is in Yahweh:</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 But my trust is in you, Yahweh; I say, '<a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/01/daily-bible-readings-for-monday-january.html">You are my God</a>,'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 every moment of my life is in your hands, rescue me from the clutches of my foes who pursue me;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 let your face shine on your servant, save me in your faithful love. </div>

<div style="color: red; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, Matthew 20:17-28</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, and on the road he took the Twelve aside by themselves and said to them,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 'Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man is about to be handed over to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn him to death</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 and will hand him over to the gentiles to be mocked and scourged and crucified; and on the third day he will be raised up again.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came with her sons to make a request of him, and bowed low;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 and he said to her, 'What is it you want?' She said to him, 'Promise that these two sons of mine may sit one at your right hand and the other at your left in your kingdom.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
22 Jesus answered, 'You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink?' They replied, 'We can.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
23 He said to them, 'Very well; you shall drink my cup, but as for seats at my right hand and my left, these are not mine to grant; they belong to those to whom they have been allotted by my Father.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
24 When the other ten heard this they were indignant with the two brothers.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
25 But Jesus called them to him and said, 'You know that among the gentiles the rulers lord it over them, and great men make their authority felt.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
26 Among you this is not to happen. No; anyone who wants to become great among you must be your servant,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
27 and anyone who wants to be first among you must be your slave,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
28 just as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.' </div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Second Samuel 15:13-14, 30; 16:5-13</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 A messenger came and told David, 'The men of Israel have shifted their allegiance to Absalom.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 David said to all his retinue then with him in Jerusalem, 'Up, let us flee, or we shall not escape from Absalom! Leave as quickly as you can, in case he mounts a sudden attack, overcomes us and puts the city to the sword.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
30 David then made his way up the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went, his head covered and his feet bare. And all the people with him had their heads covered and made their way up, weeping as they went.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 As David was reaching Bahurim, out came a man of the same clan as Saul's family. His name was Shimei son of Gera and, as he came, he uttered curse after curse</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 and threw stones at David and at all King David's retinue, even though the whole army and all the champions formed an escort round the king on either side.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 The words of his curse were these, 'Off with you, off with you, man of blood, scoundrel!</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 Yahweh has paid you back for all the spilt blood of the House of Saul whose sovereignty you have usurped; and Yahweh has transferred the sovereign power to Absalom your son. Now your wickedness has overtaken you, man of blood that you are.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 Abishai son of Zeruiah said to the king, 'Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over and cut his head off.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 But the king replied, 'What concern is my business to you, sons of Zeruiah? Let him curse! If Yahweh has said to him, "Curse David!" what right has anyone to say, "Why have you done so?" '</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 David said to Abishai and all his retinue, 'Why, the son sprung from my own body is now seeking my life; all the more reason for this Benjaminite to do so! Let him curse on, if Yahweh has told him to!</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 Perhaps Yahweh will look on my wretchedness and will repay me with good for his curses today.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 So David and his men went on their way, and Shimei kept pace with him along the opposite mountainside, cursing as he went, throwing stones and flinging dust. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 3:2-3, 4-5, 6-7</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 how countless those who say of me, 'No salvation for him from his God!'Pause</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 But you, Yahweh, the shield at my side, my glory, you hold my head high.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 I cry out to Yahweh; he answers from his holy mountain.Pause</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 As for me, if I lie down and sleep, I shall awake, for Yahweh sustains me.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 I have no fear of people in their thousands upon thousands, who range themselves against me wherever I turn.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 Arise, Yahweh, rescue me, my God! You strike all my foes across the face, you break the teeth of the wicked.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b><a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.in/2012/01/daily-bible-readings-for-thursday.html">Gospel</a>, Mark 5:1-20</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 They reached the territory of the Gerasenes on the other side of the lake,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 and when he disembarked, a man with an unclean spirit at once came out from the tombs towards him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 The man lived in the tombs and no one could secure him any more, even with a chain,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 because he had often been secured with fetters and chains but had snapped the chains and broken the fetters, and no one had the strength to control him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 All night and all day, among the tombs and in the mountains, he would howl and gash himself with stones.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Catching sight of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and fell at his feet</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 and shouted at the top of his voice, 'What do you want with me, Jesus, son of the Most High God? In God's name do not torture me!'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 For Jesus had been saying to him, 'Come out of the man, unclean spirit.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 Then he asked, 'What is your name?' He answered, 'My name is Legion, for there are many of us.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the district.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 and the unclean spirits begged him, 'Send us to the pigs, let us go into them.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 So he gave them leave. With that, the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs, and the herd of about two thousand pigs charged down the cliff into the lake, and there they were drowned.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 The men looking after them ran off and told their story in the city and in the country round about; and the people came to see what had really happened.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 They came to Jesus and saw the demoniac sitting there -- the man who had had the legion in him -- properly dressed and in his full senses, and they were afraid.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 And those who had witnessed it reported what had happened to the demoniac and what had become of the pigs.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 Then they began to implore Jesus to leave their neighbourhood.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed begged to be allowed to stay with him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 Jesus would not let him but said to him, 'Go home to your people and tell them all that the Lord in his mercy has done for you.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 So the man went off and proceeded to proclaim in the Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, First Samuel 18:6-9; 19:1-7</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 On their return, when David was coming back from killing the Philistine, the women came out of all the towns of Israel singing and dancing to meet King Saul, with tambourines, sistrums and cries of joy;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 and as they danced the women sang: Saul has killed his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 Saul was very angry; the incident displeased him. 'They have given David the tens of thousands,' he said, 'but me only the thousands; what more can he have, except the throne?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 And Saul watched David jealously from that day onwards.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 Saul let his son Jonathan and all his servants know of his intention to kill David. But Jonathan, Saul's son, held David in great affection;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 and Jonathan warned David, 'My father Saul is looking for a way to kill you, so be on your guard tomorrow morning; go into hiding, stay out of sight.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 I shall go out and keep my father company in the countryside where you will be, and shall talk to my father about you; I shall see what the situation is and then tell you.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 Jonathan spoke highly of David to Saul his father and said, 'The king should not harm his servant David; far from harming you, what he has done has been greatly to your advantage.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 He took his life in his hands, he killed the Philistine, and Yahweh brought about a great victory for all Israel. You saw for yourself. How pleased you were! Why then sin against innocent blood by killing David for no reason?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Saul was impressed by Jonathan's words. Saul swore, 'As Yahweh lives, I will not kill him.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 Jonathan called David and told him all this. Jonathan then brought him to Saul, and David remained in attendance as before.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.com/2012/01/daily-bible-readings-for-friday-january.html"><b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 56:2-3, 9-10, 10-12, 13-14</b></a></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 Those who harry me lie in wait for me all day, countless are those who attack me from the heights.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 Then my enemies will turn back on the day when I call. This I know, that God is on my side.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 In God whose word I praise, in Yahweh whose word I praise,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 in God I put my trust and have no fear; what can mortal man do to me?</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 I am bound by the vows I have made, God, I will pay you the debt of thanks,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 for you have saved my life from death to walk in the presence of God, in the light of the living.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, Mark 3:7-12</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lakeside, and great crowds from Galilee followed him. From Judaea,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea and Transjordan and the region of Tyre and Sidon, great numbers who had heard of all he was doing came to him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 And he asked his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, to keep him from being crushed.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 For he had cured so many that all who were afflicted in any way were crowding forward to touch him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, would fall down before him and shout, 'You are the Son of God!'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 But he warned them strongly not to make him known. </div>

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, First Samuel 8:4-7, 10-22 </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 The elders of Israel all assembled, went back to Samuel at Ramah, and said,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 'Look, you are old, and your sons are not following your example. So give us a king to judge us, like the other nations.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Samuel thought that it was wrong of them to say, 'Let us have a king to judge us,' so he prayed to Yahweh.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 But Yahweh said to Samuel, 'Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you: it is not you they have rejected</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 Everything that Yahweh had said, Samuel then repeated to the people who were asking him for a king.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 He said, 'This is what the king who is to reign over you will do. He will take your sons and direct them to his chariotry and cavalry, and they will run in front of his chariot.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 He will use them as leaders of a thousand and leaders of fifty; he will make them plough his fields and gather in his harvest and make his weapons of war and the gear for his chariots.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 He will take your daughters as perfumers, cooks and bakers.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 He will take the best of your fields, your vineyards and your olive groves and give them to his officials.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 He will tithe your crops and vineyards to provide for his courtiers and his officials.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 He will take the best of your servants, men and women, of your oxen and your donkeys, and make them work for him.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 He will tithe your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 When that day comes, you will cry aloud because of the king you have chosen for yourselves, but on that day Yahweh will not hear you.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 The people, however, refused to listen to Samuel. They said, 'No! We are determined to have a king,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 so that we can be like the other nations, with our own king to rule us and lead us and fight our battles.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 Samuel listened to all that the people had to say and repeated it in Yahweh's ear.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
22 Yahweh then said to Samuel, 'Do as they ask and give them a king.' Samuel then said to the Israelites, 'Go home, each of you, to his own town.' </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 89:16-17, 18-19</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 In your name they rejoice all day long, by your saving justice they are raised up.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 You are the flower of their strength, by your favour our strength is triumphant;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 for to Yahweh belongs our shield, to the Holy One of <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.com/2011/12/daily-bible-readings-for-tuesday.html">Israel our king</a>.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful you said: 'I have given strength to a warrior, I have raised up a man chosen from my people.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, Mark 2:1-12</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 When he returned to Capernaum, some time later word went round that he was in the house;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 and so many people collected that there was no room left, even in front of the door. He was preaching the word to them</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 when some people came bringing him a paralytic carried by four men,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 but as they could not get the man to him through the crowd, they stripped the roof over the place where Jesus was; and when they had made an opening, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic lay.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, 'My child, your sins are forgiven.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Now some scribes were sitting there, and they thought to themselves,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 'How can this man talk like that? He is being blasphemous. Who but God can forgive sins?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 And at once, Jesus, inwardly aware that this is what they were thinking, said to them, 'Why do you have these thoughts in your hearts?</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 Which of these is easier: to say to the paralytic, "Your sins are forgiven" or to say, "Get up, pick up your stretcher and walk"?</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 But to prove to you that the Son of man has authority to forgive sins on earth' --</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 he said to the paralytic-'I order you: get up, pick up your stretcher, and go off home.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 And the man got up, and at once picked up his stretcher and walked out in front of everyone, so that they were all astonished and praised God saying, 'We have never seen anything like this.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Is 7:10-14 </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 Yahweh spoke to Ahaz again and said:</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 Ask Yahweh your God for a sign, either in the depths of Sheol or in the heights above.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 But Ahaz said, 'I will not ask. I will not put Yahweh to the test.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 He then said: Listen now, House of David: are you not satisfied with trying human patience that you should try my God's patience too?</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 The Lord will give you a sign in any case: It is this: the young woman is with child and will give birth to a son whom she will call Immanuel. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 24:1-2, 3-4, 5-6</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
1 [Psalm Of David] To Yahweh belong the earth and all it contains, the world and all who live there;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 it is he who laid its foundations on the seas, on the flowing waters fixed it firm.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 Who shall go up to the mountain of Yahweh? Who shall take a stand in his holy place?</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 The clean of hands and pure of heart, whose heart is not set on vanities, who does not swear an oath in order to deceive.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 Such a one will receive blessing from Yahweh, saving justice from the God of his salvation.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Such is the people that seeks him, that seeks your presence, God of Jacob.Pause </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, Lk 1:26-38</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
28 He went in and said to her, 'Rejoice, you who enjoy God's favour! The Lord is with you.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
29 She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
30 but the angel said to her, 'Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God's favour.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
31 Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
32 He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. The <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.com/2011/12/daily-bible-readings-for-monday_19.html">Lord God</a> will give him the throne of his ancestor David;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
33 he will rule over the House of Jacob for ever and his reign will have no end.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
34 Mary said to the angel, 'But how can this come about, since I have no knowledge of man?'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
35 The angel answered, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
36 And I tell you this too: your cousin Elizabeth also, in her old age, has conceived a son, and she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
37 for nothing is impossible to God.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
38 Mary said, 'You see before you the Lord's servant, let it happen to me as you have said.' And the angel left her. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">

<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Reading 1, Jgs 13:2-7, 24-25a </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
2 There was a man of Zorah of the tribe of Dan, called Manoah. His wife was barren; she had borne no children.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 The Angel of Yahweh appeared to this woman and said to her, 'You are barren and have had no child, but you are going to conceive and give birth to a son.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 From now on, take great care. Drink no wine or fermented liquor, and eat nothing unclean.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 For you are going to conceive and give birth to a son. No razor is to touch his head, for the boy is to be God's nazirite from his mother's womb; and he will start rescuing Israel from the power of the Philistines.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 The woman then went and told her husband, 'A man of God has just come to me, who looked like the <a href="http://worldchristianchurches.blogspot.com/2011/12/daily-bible-readings-for-monday_12.html"><span style="color: red;">Angel of God</span></a>, so majestic was he. I did not ask him where he came from, and he did not tell me his name.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 But he said to me, "You are going to conceive and will give birth to a son. From now on, drink no wine or fermented liquor, and eat nothing unclean. For the boy is to be God's nazirite from his mother's womb to his dying day." '</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
24 The woman gave birth to a son and called him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him;</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
25 and the spirit of Yahweh began to stir him in the Camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 71:3-4, 5-6, 16-17</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
3 Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock, my fortress.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
4 My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constant theme of my praise.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 I will come in the power of Yahweh to tell of your justice, yours alone.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<b>Gospel, Lk 1:5-25</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
5 In the days of King Herod of Judaea there lived a priest called Zechariah who belonged to the Abijah section of the priesthood, and he had a wife, Elizabeth by name, who was a descendant of Aaron.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
6 Both were upright in the sight of God and impeccably carried out all the commandments and observances of the Lord.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
7 But they were childless: Elizabeth was barren and they were both advanced in years.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
8 Now it happened that it was the turn of his section to serve, and he was exercising his priestly office before God</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
9 when it fell to him by lot, as the priestly custom was, to enter the Lord's sanctuary and burn incense there.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
10 And at the hour of incense all the people were outside, praying.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
11 Then there appeared to him the angel of the Lord, standing on the right of the altar of incense.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
12 The sight disturbed Zechariah and he was overcome with fear.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
13 But the angel said to him, 'Zechariah, do not be afraid, for your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth is to bear you a son and you shall name him John.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
14 He will be your joy and delight and many will rejoice at his birth,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord; he must drink no wine, no strong drink; even from his mother's womb he will be filled with the Holy Spirit,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
16 and he will bring back many of the Israelites to the Lord their God.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
17 With the spirit and power of Elijah, he will go before him to reconcile fathers to their children and the disobedient to the good sense of the upright, preparing for the Lord a people fit for him.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
18 Zechariah said to the angel, 'How can I know this? I am an old man and my wife is getting on in years.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
19 The angel replied, 'I am Gabriel, who stand in God's presence, and I have been sent to speak to you and bring you this good news.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
20 Look! Since you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time, you will be silenced and have no power of speech until this has happened.'</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
21 Meanwhile the people were waiting for Zechariah and were surprised that he stayed in the sanctuary so long.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
22 When he came out he could not speak to them, and they realised that he had seen a vision in the sanctuary. But he could only make signs to them and remained dumb.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
23 When his time of service came to an end he returned home.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
24 Some time later his wife Elizabeth conceived and for five months she kept to herself, saying,</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
25 'The Lord has done this for me, now that it has pleased him to take away the humiliation I suffered in public.' </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
